The European Union has finalized an immigration and border control related agreement with Tunisia. The European Union is floating this agreement as a ‘flagship’ of sorts. An agreement which will serve as the template for further deal-making with other states on the periphery of the European Union’s external borders.
There is just one problem, it’s a bad deal. Tunisia will receive hundreds of millions of Euros from the European Union and its memberstates, roughly 150 million Euros of which is supposed to go toward border security and the prevention migrant departures toward Europe. But Europe is not only bribing states with money, it is bribing them with opportunities for legal immigration.
Earlier this year the Italian government assisted the Tunisian state securing a 2-4 billion dollar loan from the IMF and pledged that Italy would take 4,000 Tunisian workers. Under Italian family reunification legislation these 4,000 Tunisians will be entitled to bring their spouses, children and even parents to Italy.
The European Union has compounded this new ‘legal’ migration route through its own agreement with Tunisia. The agreement promises a plethora of ‘talent partnerships’ and 'skills mobility’, particularly for young people. So, even if the EU is able to bribe its neighbours to stop migrants from crossing the Mediterranean, and that is a big if, the European Union is still setting itself up for new and rather massive waves of legal chain migration which will go ignored by the mainstream media and governments.
Other memberstates are also getting on board. After an interview in which German Chancellor Olaf Scholz claimed Germany needed many more immigrants in order to save its pension system, the German Council of Economic Experts, a body which advises the Chancellor, announced the country would need 1.5 million immigrants annually. This is a rather odd claim considering that German state governments have been begging the Federal government more money as the cost of immigration is transforming into an unworkable burden.
The German political class later made good on this commentary, massively expanding legal immigration opportunities to the country and lowering every criteria in order to do so.
Just under a year ago the Spanish state reformed its own immigration laws so that illegal immigrants could ‘regularise’ themselves after two years in the country if they attested to having unspecified ‘training. While in Sweden, despite promises of immigration reduction from a new ‘Conservative’ government, the number of migrants is once again on the increase. This is particularly egregious when taking into consideration that immigration to the nation had more than halved between 2016 and 2020.
And in Poland, a country long ruled by the supposedly anti-immigration and radically conservative Law and Justice Party, the goverment is issuing hundreds of thousands of new visas this year, mostly to East and Central Asian persons who are being imported as skilled and unskilled labour.
The current ruling elite cannot be trusted to do what is right for Western countries and political change is an ever-growing necessity.
It's 100% true that "the elite cannot be trusted to do what is right for White countries."
However, a perhaps even-bigger problem is that a sizable plurality if not an outright majority of Whites themselves are in favor of mass migration -- or at least, are unwilling to do anything "mean-spirited" (read: effective) to stop it.
In the U.S. some 70% of people are against "illegal" mass migration. But only 24% of Americans say that LEGAL immigration should be decreased, while fully 34% of Americans -- a plurality on this issue -- support INCREASING legal migration. In other words, while the elites are a problem, in my view they are not the ultimate problem. The ultimate problem is Progressivism / Universalism, which holds as its fundamental and central tenet that "all men are created equal."
Progressivism (or Universalism) is the unacknowledged state religion of every major Western polity. It is the official platform of both major American political parties, and comprises the personal dearly-held beliefs of over 99% of Americans. Is is essentially Christianity without the supernatural aspects, or what British historian Tom Holland called "secular Christianity" (in his 2019 book "Dominion.")
This wrong belief leads directly to the pernicious conclusion that "all men" deserve to live in the United States (or in the West.) After all, if we're all "equal," why should some of us be consigned to live in poverty in "shithole countries" just because we were born there? That's injustice!
