Nationalism and the 'Conservative' Surge - (1/2) Europe
We have an uphill battle in an age of rising conservative parties.
In election after election parties which once labelled themselves nationalist or tolerated being slapped with the label “far-right” by the media are on the march. This poses unique challenges to genuine nationalists and our political movement to save a civilization which stretches across the globe.
In Europe in 2022 Giogia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy won a landslide general election victory which propelled them to power. Likewise a ‘Conservative’ government came to power in Sweden following a November election, a government which is supported by the once staunchly nationalist Sweden Democrats party. Both of these parties, and the subsequent governments they helped to establish, made large promises as regards immigration and cultural issues.
At the time of the election victory of Giorgia Meloni we wrote this brief piece which promised to hold her to the various campaign promises she made, and just over a month later we praised the Meloni government for their efforts to stop boats full of migrants from landing in the country. It was shortly thereafter, however, that the Meloni administration relented and changed direction.
Now, record numbers of illegal and irregular migrants have been pouring into Italy under Meloni’s watch and it is causing dissent within her coalition government. Recently, and in a far more more embarassing incident, the Italian Ministers for Agriculture and later Civil Protection called for the importation of some 500,000 persons to Italy annually, in order to replace the population.
In Sweden we were more skeptical from the start. We authored this lengthy piece about the trojan horse that was and remains the Tidöavtalet (Tidö agreement) between the ruling parties. We have since regularly covered the deliberate lies and misteps of Sweden’s new ‘Conservative’ administration, such as their push to give some 300,000 immigrants citizenship.
That brings us to today. An election takes place in Finland today which may well see the media labelled 'far-right’ True Finns party (Perussuomalaiset) take first place and be in best position to form a new government. The party, once self-labelled as ethnic nationalist, has radically changed. Like most ‘far-right’ parties the True Finns have embraced homosexual and degenerate lifestyles, but more worryingly have watered down stances on immigration.
The party now favours half-measures such as the restriction of student, ‘unskilled’ work and refugee visas. It has dropped any mention of the demographic situation of ethnic Finns and now has lengthy sections which focus on the topics of integration and dropping multiculturalism. A monocultural Finland with a minority Finnish population is no more desirable than a multicultural Finland with a minority Finnish population.
At the European level The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, is being floated as a potential replacement for current Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen. The Maltese Metsola has much more ‘Conservative’ credentials than V.D. Leyen, as she stands in stark opposition to practices such as abortion.
Metsola is, however, no shining light to which might change the direction of the European continent. She is incredibly pro-immigration, pro-homosexual, and pro-Israel. Her loyalties are not with the people of Europe anymore than those of the abovelisted parties have shown to be.
With these false beacons of hope around ever corner it may seem enough to squash any hope of saving the West, but this is FAR from the case. The youth of Europe are looking for an alternative to the current order, and voting for these disappointing parties is a part of that path.
Marine Le Pen received a huge share of the youth vote in the 2022 French Presidential election. The Sweden Democrats doubled their youth vote (18-21) in the last general election, and in Finland the True Finns are the single largest party among the youth of the nation.
Europeans, Americans and other Western peoples are going through a process of discovery. They are looking for a vehicle to deliver radical change to their increasingly violent, poor, and unfamiliar lives and nations. This movement, that of nationalism, has a duty to present itself as that viable alternative.
That means building political structures, such as the fantastic Alternativ För Sverige in Sweden, which stand to capture the voters who will eventually become disenchanted with the parties currently breaking promises and changing manifestos.
Nationalists have a duty to fight the ‘Conservatives’ who hold back any progress in saving our civilization.
