On February 25th President Trump sat at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office signing executive orders when—prompted by questions of the economy—he began to describe a key immigration reform. The President and his Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnick, outlined changes that will be coming to the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa program.
Currently any immigrant who seeks to enter the United States via investment must invest either one million dollars into real estate, assets, or other capital-intensive holdings, or the would-be immigrant can invest $800,000 to create at least ten jobs in the country. The current EB-5 program has a cap of 10,000 visas per annum and the Secretary Lutnick has said that the “backlog” for EB-5 visas exceeds 250,000 individuals currently.
Now the President wants to reform the EB-5. The administration is looking to change the program so that the cost of an EB-5 visa, which they are now referring to as the “Gold Card” and even as the “Trump Gold Card” will exceed $5 million.
If this were the only detail of the reform Americans could be thrilled about a further restriction and immigration, but unfortunately the President has something radically different in mind.
On two occasions, once in the Oval Office and a second time during the recent cabinet meeting, Trump made it clear they intend to sell at least 1 million of these Gold Card visas. Visas he has clarified will give investor immigrants a path to American citizenship. To make matters worse the president has said that he hopes the country may sell as many as 10 million of these Gold Card visas—his justification being that it would fully pay off the national debt.
Secretary Lutnick, who is deeply serious about fixing the deficit and the national debt, also views this as a lucrative opportunity, though not necessarily for the American people. In a Fox News interview uploaded on the 27th of February Secretary Lutnick reaffirmed that 250,000 investor immigrants are waiting in line. The Secretary then said “I think these people will come in enormous ways” and that these Credit Card Americans (my term) are going to be “fantastic global citizens.”
My question for the Secretary is: Who asked for these fantastic global citizens?
Americans voted for less immigration and not just less illegal immigration. According to a June 2024 GALLUP poll 55% of Americans want immigration to decrease, the highest figure since 2001. Just 16% of Americans would like to see immigration increase while 25% are satisfied with the present level. A 2025 poll conducted by GALLUP found that 63% of Americans are somewhat or very dissatisfied with the level of immigration into the country while just 32% of Americans are somewhat or very satisfied with the levels of immigration we’re experiencing.
In short, there are no Americans clamoring at the gates of the White House, let alone the Commerce Department, and chanting for yet more immigration.
One might be more sympathetic if these one-to-ten million Credit Card Americans were coming from culturally similar European countries (which do have a lot of millionaires) but they do not. Over 80% of EB-5 investors originate in China, South Korea, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. Following close on the heels of that group are soaring numbers of Brazilians, Mexicans, Nigerians, Indians, and Vietnamese. This is remarkably concerning. According to the 2024 Global Wealth Report there are more than 6 million millionaires in China, 1.3 million in Vietnam, 788,000 in Taiwan, and 870,000 Indian millionaires. Mexico and Brazil each have an excess of 350,000 millionaires. Other countries such as Saudi Arabia sport 352,000 millionaires while Japan has 2.8 millionaires within its borders. France and the United Kingdom combined have fewer millionaires than China. These “Gold Card” immigrants aren’t going to be coming from Europe.
Trump and Lutnick have also made it clear that corporations will be able to purchase these “Gold Cards” and use them to bring immigrants into the country to work for them, though one look at the demographics of America’s largest corporations is indication enough that they won’t be capturing talent from Europe.
The Economic Times of India is all too happy to highlight how Google’s leadership (including platforms such as YouTube) is replete with Indians, as is that of Microsoft, Albertsons (one of our largest food retailers), Adobe, IBM, Starbucks, and several other lesser known but significant corporations such as Micron technologies.
America is at serious risk of becoming a country where our economic elite are of an entirely different cultural, religious, and ethnic extraction than the European stock that gave rise to the American nation. The Gold Cards are not something the American people asked for.

The (((Kushner))) family were involved in this kind of 'pay-to-play' immigration as (of course) 'facilitators'. This occurred before, during and after Kushner being a Trump advisor.
(((Lutnick))) is happy to sell 'America' by the pound because some bunch of people are going to be 'facilitating' this process to their own profit.
All of us who refused to vote for Trump because of his association with jews, Zionist and otherwise, knew this kind of betrayal was inevitable.
With Mayorkas we got dissolved borders, and mass settler colonization to rural and rust-belt America. This is the Carculla dissolution of citizenship and borders with salting of settler colonization and ethnic replacement on a scale with no precedent. With Lutnick we get dissolved borders by selling off, "citizenship", to the global financial elite. Caracalla of the masses and Caracalla of the global plutocracy.
Mayorkas was an emissary of global finance. Use remittances to subsidize global sovereign debt payments. Lutnick is global finance. Directly sell off what remains of the country in a brazen open air auction. The US cannot pay its debts so it will sell the entire country off to the highest bidders. Global finance doesn't have to take the losses of their profligate usury, but Americans, already a stateless people, will lose everything - not just possessions but their territory and peoplehood.
It doesn't get any more banana republic than selling yourself off to foreigners who get to walk around with a Gold Card. At least they wasted no time in telling us what was meant by America entering into its Golden Age. This is a gut wrenching tragedy and an unforgivable crime.
