Happy New Year From All Of Us At White Papers!
We have so many things to toast to this year. In the U.S. alone, we’ve seen:
2.5 million foreign-born people have left the country, either via deportation or voluntarily. For the first time in fifty years, our foreign-born population has decreased.
Reforms in the public charge rule should cut legal immigration in half.
Last year, we witnessed the “Christmas H1B Wars” on X, a social media uprising against the issuance of more H1B visas. This year, we now have sitting Senator Jim Banks seriously suggesting a complete overhaul of the H1B visa system via the American Tech Workforce Act of 2025, and others who have suggested scrapping the program entirely.
The border is more or less totally closed – there have been no releases into the country for eight months!
We have a sitting congressman Chip Roy (R-TX), introducing an immigration moratorium via the PAUSE Act.
Internationally, we watched as Sweden implemented our policy recommendations and for the first time in its history, introduced a paid Remigration program (although more work needs to be done).
These are all policies we’ve recommended or otherwise endorsed. We have you to thank for lobbying your representatives, sharing our information on social media, and otherwise supporting our efforts! You’re making a difference!
Some of our most popular articles this year were:

Here are a few of the highlights of 2025:
We published 145 articles. We gained eight new voices last year! We will also continue our Beyond the West series which invites voices from non-Western countries to invite their diaspora home.
We participated in the first annual Remigration Summit in Milan (stay tuned for 2026!).
We held our first in-studio interview and published follow up recommendations for South Africa.
We published our first draft legislation: The Remigration Act of 2025.
Thanks to your efforts, we’ve been contacted by policymakers to bring some of our ideas to action, including the Remigration Act of 2025! Thank you for lobbying your representatives. It’s paying off!
And finally, new infographics!
Here are a few things we look forward to in 2026:
