Director’s note: Maryland & the nation is in an uproar since Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) used taxpayer funds to visit deported illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia in the El Salvador mega-prison.
Leftwing news outlets such as MSNBC claim Garcia is not a gang member and has never been convicted of a crime despite multiple arrests.
(An aside: it would be logically understandable if he were as MS-13 is a rival gang to the El Salvadorian gang Barrio 18 which extorted his family in El Salvador. This is another example of the US importing a foreign conflict. MS-13 would not exist without immigrants from El Salvador.)
The Democrats & left-wing media are missing the main point which is that he did commit a crime. He was here illegally and there is no reason to house immigrants even suspected of gang membership. He is a legal citizen of El Salvador and should remain in El Salvador.
If I could have looked into a crystal ball in 2024 and predicted Trump would win, I would then have predicted that the Democrats would have sat back while Trump started deporting criminal aliens. I would have believed that the Democrats would have been willing to let the criminals go so that they could at least have semblance of being pro-law and order even if in reality they are not.
I would not have been able to predict that a sitting Democratic Senator would fly down to El Salvador to try to get an illegal alien alleged gang member back into the United States.
